Experts: 74% of Russians worried about illegal use of personal data

MOSCOW, Nov 9 (PRIME) -- Three quarters of Russians, or 74%, are worried about illegal use of personal data and 52% by a threat to private information safety, while 29% said they or their friends were hacked, researcher GfK said on Monday in a statement.

“Security is Russians’ number one personal value in the list of 57 personal values. The world is full of threats, and consumers are stressed by many reasons. They want to be sure that they buy safely, or at least, it cannot hurt them,” said Kristina Narykova, head of the Consumer Insights GfK Rus department.

The trend is more pronounced among women and consumers over 35 years old.

As to technological fraud, a half of the respondents are worried about expansion of fake news in the Internet and 43% are anxious about dependence on technologies, among others.
